Sweet Billy sprang from a collaboration of Northwest music veterans Marc Willett (Kingsmen, Alice Stuart, Shameless Hussy) And Deanne “Bernadette” Bracamonte (Strutz, Shameless hussy).
For years both had independently yearned to do an acoustic oriented original Americana meets 60s music project and they began discussing the idea with each other while playing together in the band Shameless Hussy.
Work together on music of that style started with the recording of Willett’s Flying A “Tune Up” CD and from there expanded into more material, both originals and covers of songs by their favorite artists such as Joni MItchell, Gram Parsons, Emmy Lou Harris, John Hiatt, Joan Osborne and others.
With the addition of long time friend and percussionist extraordinaire Matthew Burgess they adopted the new name of “Sweet Billy” to better reflect the nature of the band versus previous solo endeavors.
Songs that tell heartfelt stories, a good dose of vocal harmony, and an eclectic selection of great tunes are at the core this project and the members approach it all with love and humor.
