Passarim was founded by Leo Raymundo and Bill Dee in 2004 as a bossa nova group dedicated to recreating the original ‘cool’ style of bossa as it was developed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1950s and early 1960s by legends such as Joao Gilberto, Nara Leao, Roberto Menescal, and more. The 5-piece band has recorded one album in 2013, and its song ‘Voce E Eu’ was featured on the Starbucks’ bossa nova compilation In A Bossa Nova Mood which achieved #1 on the Billboard Jazz Charts.
